Corporate tax and VAT · Registered, filed and tracked · 9% only above AED 375,000 profit

The short answer

Tax Advisory in Short

Every UAE company now lives with two federal taxes. Corporate tax is 0% on taxable profit up to AED 375,000 and 9% above it, and registration is required for essentially every company, whatever it earns. VAT is 5%, mandatory once taxable turnover passes AED 375,000 in twelve months and voluntary from AED 187,500. DBC registers both correctly, prepares and files the returns, tracks every deadline and coordinates the audit where your company needs one.

Tax Advisory Questions

Corporate tax is 0% on taxable profit up to AED 375,000 and 9% above that. It applies to mainland companies and, with conditions, to free zone companies, and registration is required for essentially every company whatever its profit.

VAT registration is mandatory once taxable turnover passes AED 375,000 in a twelve month period, and voluntary from AED 187,500, which some companies choose so they can reclaim input VAT. The standard rate is 5%, and registering late attracts penalties.

Only if it is a qualifying free zone person in a designated free zone. That means keeping real substance in the UAE, earning qualifying income, staying under the limit on other revenue and preparing audited financial statements. Income outside those rules is taxed at 9% above AED 375,000.

Yes. Registration and filing are required whatever the result, and a company claiming Small Business Relief still files its return, even when the tax due is zero.
